Our Bookkeeper Requirements

Find Bookkeeping Help does not match businesses with just anyone. Our bookkeeping professionals are expected to meet clear standards before working with clients through our network.

Required Skills and Experience

Our bookkeepers are expected to understand:

  • QuickBooks Online — Ability to work inside QBO, categorize transactions, reconcile accounts, review reports, and keep records organized.

  • Microsoft Excel — Comfortable using spreadsheets, basic formulas, filtering, sorting, formatting, and reviewing financial data.

  • Bank and Credit Card Reconciliations — Ability to compare accounting records to bank and credit card statements and identify discrepancies.

  • Transaction Categorization — Understanding how to properly classify income, expenses, transfers, loan payments, owner draws, and other common business transactions.

  • Financial Reports — Ability to review basic reports such as Profit & Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, and transaction detail reports.

  • Bookkeeping Cleanup — Ability to identify messy, incomplete, or inaccurate records and help bring books back up to date.

  • Professional Communication — Clear, timely communication with business owners about missing information, questions, and monthly progress.

  • Confidentiality — Respect for the sensitive nature of client financial information.

Modern Technology Expectations

We also expect our bookkeepers to be comfortable using modern tools that help improve efficiency and accuracy.

This may include:

  • Microsoft Copilot or similar AI tools

  • AI-assisted bookkeeping or document tools

  • QuickBooks automation features

  • Cloud-based accounting platforms

  • Secure file-sharing tools

  • Digital receipt and document management tools

AI and automation can help reduce repetitive work, but they do not replace professional judgment. Every business still receives support from a real bookkeeping professional who reviews the work and understands the client’s needs.

Human Review Comes First

Technology can help make bookkeeping faster, but accuracy still depends on human oversight. Our bookkeepers are expected to review client records, identify unusual activity, ask questions when needed, and make sure the books are organized and reliable.

Our goal is simple

Combine skilled bookkeeping professionals with modern technology so every business receives accurate, efficient, and dependable bookkeeping support.
